Method to specify a Work Station ID in AS400 and connect to it

※This article does not deal with "IBM i" but with "AS400 (AS/400)" which is very used for its convenience.

Overview
 If you emulate a 5250 terminal and connect to AS400, you can specify a Work Station ID with the method below.
 
Designation method
  env.DEVNAME=<Work Station ID>

  (Example of designation)
    tn5250://iSeries:port?env.TERM=IBM-3477-FC&env.DEVNAME=DEVROBOT

・Connection example with a specified Work Station ID (connect to pub400.com (※1) )

If you do not specify a Work Station ID, it will be set in the following format: QPADEV<digits>

・Connection example with no specified Work Station ID (connect to pub400.com(※1) )

(※1) pub400.com: an IBM i V7R3 server anyone can use for non-commercial purposes
   external website: http://www.pub400.com/
